The 28th annual Preventive Medicine Seminar will take place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Hilton Head Island, SC. This year’s theme is Mental and Emotional
Disorders.
Topics to be addressed include developmental trauma, values, beliefs, and conflict resolution in stepfamilies, chronic stress—its impact on physical and mental health, cognitive disorders in adults, advances in neuro-stimulation for severe and chronic depression, bipolar disorder, and coping with grief and loss. Well-qualified speakers have been selected for the important subjects to be presented. The weekend activities will provide a time for spiritual stimulation through the spoken word and song. Dr. Charles Scriven, President of Kettering College of Medical Arts, will be the featured speaker. The program has been designed to provide time for the participants and their families to enjoy the beach, local shopping, playing golf, or enjoy a variety of dining experiences. The seminar is open to all physicians, dentists, nurses, and allied personnel. The spouses may attend the lectures without charge but will not receive certification. For information you may contact Gloria Bareford, Registrar, at (804) 740-0399 or email at dellastreet@excite.com, or Valerie Jackson, member of Planning Committee at (706) 226-3620. |
