Announcements

Welcome to our first Worship Service at the Maple Street Church. We are so happy to see you and trust that you will receive a great blessing for having worshiped with us. If you are visiting for the first time, please fill out a visitor’s card to let us know.
Just a reminder that we won’t be having Fellowship Lunches in March, to give us time to acquire and set up our new tables and chairs. We hope to resume Fellowship Lunches in April.
Even with the snow and sleet we had Tuesday evening, nineteen participants turned out for our first Prayer Meeting and Bible Study here in the Maple Street church. Remember, we meet here every Tuesday evening at 6:30.
Beginning today, we will be having two Adult Sabbath School classes, the Regular class and the Pastor’s Class, which is primarily for new converts and non-members.
On March 20, Dr. John Clark, a featured speaker on WBAJ, will deliver the sermon at our worship service here at the Maple Street Church. Dr. Clark trained at Loma Linda University School of Medicine and has a passion to share his knowledge of conditions that can be prevented and reversed with good lifestyle choices. On Saturday evening at 5:30 on March 13, he will be speaking at the First Church of Lexington on Cancer, on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 on March 14, he will be speaking at the CAA Gym on Diabetes, and on Friday evening at 6:30 on March 19, he will be speaking about Cholesterol at the West Columbia Church. Pick up a printed copy of his schedule at the literature table, or print one from the WBAJ website, wbaj.net.
If you haven’t received a copy of our “Rental Stipulations” yet, please pick up a copy from the literature table and become familiar with them. Among other things, these rules require us to keep the property and buildings clean and orderly, empty any trash that we are responsible for, not handle any items that don’t belong to us, refrain from talking or creating a disturbance in the sanctuary, keep children from creating a disturbance, refrain from eating or drinking in the sanctuary, park only in designated areas, and leave the sanctuary when dismissed.
Because of Daylight Saving Time beginning on Sunday, March 14, WBAJ will have two program schedules this month. Please get your copy from the website WBAJ.net, or pick up a copy from the literature table.
First Reading: Having been approved by the Church Board on March 1, Wanda Amick’s request to transfer her membership to the Midtown Church will be voted on by the members next Sabbath, March 13.
The Community Service Spring Federation Meeting will be held Sunday, March 21, beginning at 10:00 a.m., at the Sumter Church, 103 N. Pike West. Anyone wishing to follow the example of Jesus in a caring ministry to the hurting and needy in this world is welcome to attend.
ACTS is in need of donations. If you have donations and are not able to get them to the shop, please call 803-260-3893 or 803-397-7285. We will pick up. Thank you for your support of the Adventist Community Thrift Shop.
During the first two weeks in March, Pastor Fry can be heard weekly on WBAJ on Thursdays at 10:30. For the remainder of March, he can be heard on Tuesdays at 7:30 a.m.
All members and visitors are requested to meet outside at the front door of the church immediately after worship service to allow us to take a few photos of those attending our first service here at the Maple Street church.
Wanted: a mature, dependable, trustworthy individual to fill in for regularly scheduled volunteers as needed at the Adventist Community Thrift Shop. Must be flexible and work well with the public. Training will be provided. The job offers eternal retirement benefits! Please apply at ACTS.

ACTS is interested in individuals who have thought about working for the Lord but have not yet made the commitment. Shift workers are needed to work from 10:00 - 2:00, 12:00 – 4:00 and 2:00 – 6:00 as your schedule permits. Required skills are the ability to work well with others and a desire to be a part of God’s work in the Columbia area. Benefits are out of this world!

The Carolina Conference has established another donation designation for Haiti relief. If your envelope is marked “ADRA-Haiti”, the funds will go to assist the people of Haiti. If your envelope is marked “ADRA-Haiti(SDA)” the funds will go to help rebuild damaged and destroyed SDA churches in Haiti.
You can now submit your tithes and offerings online using your credit card. Just go to our website, MidtownChurch.net, and click on “Online Giving”.
Larry Snyder’s phone number was incorrectly listed on a telephone list circulated last Sabbath. His correct phone number is in the printed bulletin today.
A Coronary Health Improvement Project (CHIP) Leadership Training Workshop will be conducted April 9-11, 2010, at the Concord SDA Church, 2141 Highway 49 North, Concord, NC 28025, from 4:00 p.m. Friday to 4:00 p.m. Sunday.
